Eligibility Criteria
Canadians have the opportunity to work and travel in various countries through the Working Holiday Program. The eligibility criteria, application process, and conditions—such as the duration of stay—vary depending on the immigration and work regulations of each destination.
IEC provides country-specific guidelines and resources on its website, outlining the requirements and procedures for Canadian youth seeking work permits abroad.
To participate in the Working Holiday Program, applicants must meet the eligibility and work requirements set by each country. While agreements differ between countries, participants are generally expected to:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old (depending on the destination country).
- Be a Canadian citizen with a valid passport.
- Have sufficient funds for initial stay.
- Purchase medical insurance for the visa duration.
